NDB is seeking a Nuclear Engineering & Radiochemistry Intern to support research and development of our revolutionary nano diamond battery technology. This internship offers hands-on experience with radioisotopes, nuclear engineering principles, and radiochemistry in a cutting-edge clean energy startup. You will assist with radioisotope research and characterization, support nuclear engineering calculations and simulations, learn radiochemical laboratory techniques, and contribute to safety documentation and procedures. This position provides exposure to nuclear technology, radiation safety, and advanced materials research. Requirements

  • Currently pursuing Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nuclear Engineering, Radiochemistry, or related field
  • Completed coursework in nuclear engineering, radiation physics, or chemistry
  • Strong academic record (3.0+ GPA preferred)
  • Basic understanding of nuclear decay, radiation safety, and nuclear materials
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic data analysis
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in teams
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to follow safety protocols
  • Eligible to work with radioactive materials (background check and training required)

Responsibilities

  • Assist nuclear engineers and radiochemists with experiments and calculations
  • Support radioisotope characterization and energy output measurements
  • Perform nuclear engineering calculations and simulations under supervision
  • Help prepare samples and conduct radiochemical analyses
  • Maintain laboratory notebooks and document experimental procedures
  • Participate in safety training and follow radiation safety protocols
  • Conduct literature reviews and research on nuclear battery technology
  • Prepare presentations and reports on project findings

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior internship or research experience in nuclear engineering or chemistry
  • Familiarity with nuclear simulation tools (MCNP, SCALE, etc.)
  • Coursework in radiochemistry or nuclear materials
  • Experience with laboratory equipment and analytical techniques
  • Strong interest in clean energy and sustainable technology
  • Availability for 3-6 month internship commitment
