About this position

Join NDB Inc. as Chief Technology Officer and lead the development of breakthrough nano diamond battery technology and small modular nuclear reactors. You will oversee all technical aspects of our operations, from radioisotope production to SiC semiconductor fabrication. This role requires deep expertise in nuclear technology, materials science, and semiconductor engineering, combined with the leadership skills to manage multidisciplinary R&D teams and drive innovation from concept to commercial product.

Requirements

  • PhD in Nuclear Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or related field
  • 12+ years of experience in nuclear technology, semiconductor manufacturing, or advanced materials
  • 5+ years in technical leadership roles managing large R&D teams
  • Deep expertise in radioisotope technology, nuclear fuel cycles, or nuclear reactor design
  • Strong understanding of semiconductor fabrication, particularly SiC devices
  • Experience with thermal management systems and Brayton cycle technology
  • Proven track record of bringing complex technologies from lab to production
  • Experience working with nuclear regulatory bodies (NRC, DOE)

Responsibilities

  • Lead all technology development including nuclear reactors, radioisotopes, and semiconductor systems
  • Oversee R&D strategy and manage research teams across nuclear, materials, and engineering disciplines
  • Direct development of radioisotope production facilities and SiC coating processes
  • Ensure technical compliance with nuclear safety regulations and quality standards
  • Drive innovation in thermal management, cooling systems, and encapsulation technologies
  • Collaborate with manufacturing to transition technologies from R&D to production
  • Represent NDB in technical discussions with partners, regulators, and academic institutions
  • Manage intellectual property strategy and patent portfolio

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior CTO or VP of Engineering experience in nuclear or semiconductor industry
  • Published research in nuclear technology, materials science, or related fields
  • Experience with DOE national laboratories or nuclear facilities
  • Expertise in liquid semiconductors and advanced cooling systems
  • International regulatory experience (IAEA, international nuclear agencies)
