Chief Operations Officer (COO)
About this position
NDB Inc. seeks an experienced Chief Operations Officer to build and scale our manufacturing operations for nano diamond batteries and small modular nuclear reactors. You will oversee all operational aspects including production, supply chain, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and facility management. This role requires extensive experience in advanced manufacturing, particularly in highly regulated industries like nuclear, aerospace, or semiconductor fabrication.
Requirements
- Advanced degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Operations Management
- 12+ years of operations experience with 5+ years in COO or VP Operations role
- Extensive experience in nuclear facilities, semiconductor fabs, or advanced manufacturing
- Deep understanding of nuclear safety regulations and quality management systems
- Proven track record of building and scaling manufacturing operations
- Experience with ISO, AS9100, or nuclear quality standards (10CFR50 Appendix B)
- Strong supply chain management and procurement experience
- Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma expertise
Responsibilities
- Oversee all operations including manufacturing, supply chain, facilities, and EHS
- Build and scale production capabilities for radioisotope processing and SiC semiconductor fabrication
- Ensure compliance with nuclear safety regulations (NRC, DOE) and quality standards
- Develop and implement manufacturing strategy to achieve cost and quality targets
- Manage relationships with suppliers, contractors, and regulatory agencies
- Build and lead operations team including manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and facilities
- Implement operational systems for inventory, production scheduling, and quality control
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across all operations
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior COO or VP Operations experience in nuclear or semiconductor industry
- Experience with DOE or NRC licensed facilities
- International manufacturing and operations experience
- Expertise in automation and Industry 4.0 technologies
- Successful facility startup and commissioning experience
