Accounting & Finance Intern
About this position
NDB is seeking an Accounting & Finance Intern to support financial operations, accounting, and financial analysis for our breakthrough nano diamond battery technology company. This internship provides hands-on experience with startup finance, financial modeling, and accounting practices. You will assist with bookkeeping and accounts payable/receivable, support financial reporting and budget analysis, help with financial modeling and forecasting, and participate in month-end close processes. This position offers exposure to startup financial operations and clean energy industry economics. This is an excellent opportunity for accounting and finance students to gain practical experience in a high-growth technology startup. You'll develop valuable financial skills while contributing to revolutionary clean energy innovation.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Completed coursework in financial accounting, managerial accounting, or corporate finance
- Strong academic record (3.3+ GPA preferred)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, charts)
- Basic understanding of accounting principles (GAAP)
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy in financial data
- Excellent organizational skills
Responsibilities
- Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and expense tracking
- Support monthly financial reporting and reconciliations
- Help prepare budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis
- Conduct financial research and market analysis
- Assist with financial modeling for fundraising and business planning
- Maintain organized financial records and documentation
- Support audit preparation and compliance activities
- Learn accounting software and financial management systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior internship or work experience in accounting or finance
- Familiarity with accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite)
- Experience with financial modeling and data analysis
- CPA exam preparation or pursuing accounting certification
- Interest in startup finance or technology industry
- Availability for 3-6 month internship commitment
