About this position

NDB is seeking a Thin Film & Liquid Semiconductor Engineer to develop advanced deposition techniques and novel liquid semiconductor processes for our nano diamond battery technology. This combined role focuses on thin film fabrication, surface engineering, and exploring innovative liquid-phase semiconductor approaches. You will develop thin film deposition processes (CVD, PVD, ALD), optimize film properties for device performance, research liquid semiconductor materials and applications, and characterize thin films using advanced analytical techniques. This position requires expertise in thin film processing, surface science, and emerging semiconductor technologies. Join a cutting-edge research team working on next-generation energy technology. Requirements

  • Master's or Ph.D. in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience with thin film deposition and characterization
  • Expertise in CVD, PVD, ALD, or other thin film deposition techniques
  • Strong understanding of surface chemistry and interface engineering
  • Experience with film characterization (ellipsometry, XPS, profilometry, etc.)
  • Familiarity with liquid semiconductors or solution-processed materials
  • Excellent experimental design and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work in cleanroom environments

Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize thin film deposition processes (CVD, PVD, ALD)
  • Research and evaluate liquid semiconductor materials and applications
  • Characterize thin film properties (thickness, composition, morphology, electrical)
  • Optimize film deposition parameters for device performance and reliability
  • Develop surface treatments and interface engineering solutions
  • Maintain and troubleshoot thin film deposition equipment
  • Collaborate with device engineers on process integration
  • Document processes and create standard operating procedures

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with diamond or SiC thin film deposition
  • Background in perovskite, organic, or liquid-phase semiconductors
  • Expertise in atomic layer deposition (ALD) for conformal coating
  • Familiarity with MOCVD, PECVD, or other advanced CVD techniques
  • Experience with roll-to-roll or scalable deposition processes
  • Published research in thin film technology or materials processing
