About this position

NDB is seeking an Electronics & Control Systems Intern to support electronic circuit design, embedded systems development, and control algorithm implementation for our nano diamond battery technology. This internship offers hands-on experience with electronics design, microcontroller programming, and battery management systems. You will assist with circuit design and PCB layout, support embedded software development and testing, help with control algorithm implementation, and participate in electronics testing and debugging. This position provides exposure to power electronics, embedded systems, and control theory applications. This is a great opportunity for electrical engineering students to apply classroom knowledge to real-world energy technology. You'll gain practical skills in electronics design and embedded programming.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • Completed coursework in electronics, circuits, or embedded systems
  • Strong academic record (3.0+ GPA preferred)
  • Basic programming skills (C, C++, or Python)
  • Understanding of electronic circuits and components
  • Familiarity with microcontrollers (Arduino, STM32, etc.) preferred
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
  • Excellent attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Assist with electronic circuit design and schematic capture
  • Support PCB layout and design verification
  • Write and test embedded software for microcontrollers
  • Help implement control algorithms for battery management
  • Conduct electronics testing and troubleshooting
  • Document circuit designs and software code
  • Research power electronics and battery management technologies
  • Participate in design reviews and testing validation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior internship or project experience with electronics
  • Proficiency with PCB design tools (KiCAD, Altium, Eagle)
  • Experience with oscilloscopes, multimeters, and test equipment
  • Familiarity with battery management systems or power electronics
  • Knowledge of communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, CAN)
  • Availability for 3-6 month internship commitment
