About this position

NDB seeks a Regulatory & Quality Assurance Manager to lead regulatory strategy and quality management systems for our nano diamond battery technology. This role combines regulatory affairs expertise with quality assurance to ensure compliance with nuclear regulations and maintain world-class quality standards. You will develop regulatory strategy and manage NRC licensing processes, implement and maintain ISO quality management systems, oversee quality control testing and documentation, and serve as primary liaison with regulatory agencies. This position requires expertise in nuclear regulations, quality systems, and regulatory submissions. This is a high-impact role in bringing breakthrough nuclear technology to market. You'll be responsible for navigating complex regulatory pathways while ensuring product quality and safety.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or related field; advanced degree preferred
  • 7+ years of experience in regulatory affairs and/or quality assurance
  • Strong knowledge of NRC regulations (10 CFR) and licensing processes
  • Experience implementing ISO 9001 quality management systems
  • Excellent technical writing skills for regulatory submissions
  • Experience with nuclear material licensing or radioactive device approvals
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Ability to interface with regulatory agencies and auditors

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute regulatory strategy for NRC licensing and approvals
  • Prepare and submit regulatory applications, reports, and documentation
  • Implement and maintain ISO 9001 and other quality management systems
  • Develop quality control procedures and oversee testing protocols
  • Conduct internal audits and manage corrective/preventive actions (CAPA)
  • Serve as primary contact for NRC, EPA, and other regulatory agencies
  • Train staff on regulatory requirements and quality procedures
  • Manage document control systems and ensure GMP/GLP compliance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with NRC Type A or Type B radioactive device licensing
  • Background in nuclear fuel licensing or radioisotope production facilities
  • Familiarity with FDA regulations for medical devices (if applicable)
  • Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
  • Experience with international regulatory frameworks (IAEA)
  • Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher)
